It’s simple. We have been running an event in Penticton, BC for a number of years and in the past have raised a little money. This event is known as The Underpants Run, where participants run a couple of kilometres around town wearing nothing but their undies! It’s a fun run that has become an annual charity event in the days leading up to Ironman Canada. The proceeds from sales of the undies ($10/pair or donation) benefits Bikes for Kids and our mission to support kids and their triathlon dreams.
In the past, the proceeds supported the development of youth in the sport of triathlon. As the number of participants grew in this event so did the small amount of money we raised. In 2007, we partnered with Louis Garneau, and because of the hard work of Steve Brown and the staff at Peach City Runners in Penticton, as well as, annual appearances from some of the heroes of triathlon, we are now at a point where the proceeds can be used to put bikes into the hands of those kids who need them most.
Our hope is to get kids from every corner of Canada who cannot participate in cycling or the sport of triathlon because they don’t have access to, or cannot afford a bike, to write us a letter or send us an e-mail and tell us what they love about their sport and why they need a new bike.
So kids,
Our mission is to give away bikes.
Your mission is to write us a letter or send us an e-mail and tell us why you need a new bike.
There you have it! Now, tell us your story >>

If you’re interested in becoming a Bikes for Kids sponsor, please give us a call.
